How to be musical in your speech and not please but harm others, in Gulaal.
The writer and director Anurag Kashyap’s bombastic political thriller indeed paints red. So this is how politics runs in his head. He goes to enormous lengths to stress out his characters with simple, single-minded obvious conflicts rather than working on some bourgeois complex theories shared in a closed room. And this allows him to breathe more life into his characters. Their psychology gets defined properly and motivations pitched clearly. And then he brings his big guns which feed on nothing but basic human emotions. In the name of misunderstanding, lack of awareness he hits the final nail on the coffin, seal packed then, is his masterpiece.
