How to get it wrong in the name of love, in Dilwale.
The director Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale is sadly nothing. The hollowness isn’t hollow because there was no effort put in, but it didn’t surmount to anything. If anything I’d argue that the film has too much content. It’s just that the makers didn’t go anywhere with the content. Just establishes it and then abandons it. The only concept that is revisited more than once is Shahrukh Khan’s track of dual identity which through his performance travels the most nearest to us. But that’s not much, not anything, considering the painful cringe-worthy non-funny moments, we are told to sit through as the performances try a lot to draw a single laugh from you.
