How to get it wrong and then try to correct it with more wrong, in Good Newwz.
The writer and director Raj Mehta’s Good Newwz is- I didn’t want to use this word, considering that a lot of reviewers might have already dipped in this very same word- bad news (newwz, because why not). I don’t even want to begin in how many places the film crumbles disastrously on screen. Scene after scene everything fails. From drama to one liners. The only thing that stays with you is Akshay Kumar and his performance. Though the film weighs his shoulder down, there is barely anyone who can stop him from being himself. I mean, if you can’t stop him watching his own film that just came out that year, what could you actually do to control him. Akshay Kumar cheating away from what the film asks him to do and be, rather than responsibilities as a character is much more fun.
