There is one booming voice in this entire franchise craving for attention. His presence, just Akshay existing on screen, in this franchise is why it ages like a fine wine, like himself. The actor Akshay Kumar’s and not the director or writer’s Housefull 4 is a crackling adventure swinging between two parts, two generations, two lives carrying heavy themes of reincarnation and responsibilities. Though the film has its own homemade remedies, what’s rubbed off and what’s visible on the surface is pure performance and dedication to what they certainly feel is of such high importance that they go to enormous lengths in creating overlong complex setups that don’t even have easier pay-offs. The film is consistent in owning this self-created grammar. Plus, above all, everyone, every single artist working in this film is having fun. That feeling travels powerfully towards their audience.
